The Johnson County Newcomers Club was established in 1998 as a way for people moving in to the area to meet, socialize and learn about the community of Johnson County, TN. The club offers various programs about Johnson County at many of the meetings which have included the history of flags, Johnson County court system, benefits of Massage Therapy, Emergency Medical Services, American Cancer Society, Humane Society, to mention a few.
Meetings are normally held the 2nd Thursday of each month @ 6:30pm at a location to be decided. The meetings consist of a social, potluck dinner and business meeting. To be eligible to become a member of the JC Newcomers Club, you must have moved to Johnson County within the last 5 years. Membership dues are $10/person ($20/couple) per year.
The club's members are residents of Johnson County and come from all walks of life and have moved here from various parts of the US and even a few from foreign countries. Many of the club members are involved in community service participation for organizations such as Historical Society, Safe Haven, Chamber of Commerce, Heritage Hall, Positive Thinkers, etc. The club also makes monetary donations each December to several chariatble organizations in the county, from money raised during the year.
